Privacy policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Growthshiner (“we”, “us”) is based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit this website, answer the questions on it, book a call with us, reply to our emails, or respond to our ads. It is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
Who is responsible
Growthshiner is responsible for the personal information described here. Our Privacy Officer is Ashish, Founder. You can reach them at ash@growthshiner.com with any question, request or complaint about privacy.
What we collect
- What you tell us. Your name, work email, agency name and, if you choose, phone number, plus your answers about your agency (for example revenue range, team size and the services you deliver).
- Ad lead forms. If you fill in one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us the details you entered there.
- Bookings and calls. The time you book, the details you add to the booking, and notes we take during the call.
- Emails. Messages you send us and whether you asked to receive our emails.
- Technical data. The pages you visit, the ad or link that brought you here (campaign tags and click IDs), your browser type, and your IP address. We store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself. Cookies and similar tools collect some of this; see our cookie policy.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, financial account or government ID details, and we ask you not to send it.
Why we use it
- To answer your request, arrange a demo call, and follow up about it
- To work out whether our services are a fit for your agency
- To send you occasional emails, only if you ticked the box to receive them
- To measure and improve our website and our advertising, including showing our ads to people like you and not showing them to people who have already contacted us
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We use your information only for these purposes, or for others you agree to or that the law allows.
Consent
By submitting your details, you consent to their use as described here. Marketing emails are sent only with your express consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. You can turn off analytics and advertising cookies at any time on our cookie policy page; withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
Automated decisions
When you answer the questions on this site, we use your answers (mainly your agency’s revenue range) to decide automatically whether to offer you a call booking now or to send you our free time audit instead. If you think the result is wrong, write to us: a person will review your answers, tell you what information was used, and let you correct it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run this site and our business, under contracts or terms that require them to protect it and use it only for us:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and the database that stores your answers
- Cal.com: call scheduling
- Resend and Zoho: sending and receiving email
- Google Analytics and PostHog: website analytics
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): ad lead forms and advertising measurement. When you submit your details or book a call, we send Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of your email, phone number and first name, with the event, so Meta can measure our ads. Meta uses this under its own terms and privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business, in which case the new owner would be bound by this policy.
Where it is stored
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Before transferring information outside Quebec or Canada we assess whether it will be adequately protected. While it is outside Canada, it may be accessible to courts and authorities there under local law. We remain responsible for information we transfer to providers.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond and follow up, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case we keep it for the length of our engagement and as long afterwards as the law requires (for example, six years for tax records). We then delete or anonymise it.
How we protect it
We use safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and providers with recognised security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant privacy regulators as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information, or stop using it for marketing
- give you the information you provided in a structured, commonly used format
- review an automated decision, as described above
Write to ash@growthshiner.com. We will reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. These requests are free.
Children
This site is for business owners and their teams. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Visitors outside Canada
If you are in the United States, you can opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising on our cookie policy page, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser. You can make the requests listed under “Your rights” wherever you live.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site or by email before it applies.
